Graduation Requirements

Graduation requirements

If you prepare, graduating from the UNC School of Media and Journalism is as easy as 1, 2, 3 ...

1

Usage & Grammar Test

2

MJ-school degree audit

3

UNC graduation application

Pass the Usage and Grammar Test, a 50-minute exam given electronically through Sakai that consists of 40 usage and 60 grammar multiple-choice questions.

Majors are required to score 70 percent or better on the test prior to graduation and are required to begin testing while taking MEJO 153. Minors are not required to score 70 percent or better.

Submit your MJ-school degree audit request form by the appropriate deadline to allow time to complete an audit of curriculum progress and to confirm outstanding requirements in time for students to make any necessary schedule adjustments.
