Media Law

The course surveys important areas of media law such as the First Amendment, libel, privacy, intellectual property, corporate and commercial speech, media and the judiciary, confidential sources, freedom of information, regulation of electronic and new media, and international issues. Specific topics covered each semester may vary depending on class interests. Students will learn to conduct legal research, identify and analyze secondary and primary legal resources, and produce an original legal research project at the graduate level.
